About Us

Flying F Sport Horses is owned and run by Lindsey Fletcher in Kingston, WA, with assistance from her (now 16yo) daughter, Sadie.

Lindsey grew up on Bainbridge Island, where she began riding as a child. She spent many years under the tutelage of an old horseman style trainer who had an uncanny way of finding diamonds in the rough, and who shaped much about how she selects and trains horses. Lindsey rode in her first National Standard Grand Prix at the age of 15 and has taken many horses from their start to the Grand Prix level since.

Lindsey lives with her family on the Flying F Sport Horses farm. She keeps 6-10 horses on site at any given time. Her husband and son are not afflicted with the horse bug, but her daughter, Sadie, also rides and shows. Sadie is a great little rider and, perhaps more importantly, a great prover of good brains since it takes an awfully special young horse for Lindsey to allow Sadie on board!

For many years Lindsey has taken on a sales horse every year or two to help offset the costs of showing. Though she would have liked to have done it more frequently, her role as a VP of Sales and Marketing in the Biotech world limited her time. Lindsey recently took a job with an exciting young company that allows her a little more time in Europe to keep more of her focus on importing and selling German-bred Holsteiners from the Stamms and Houses of some of the best and most notable breeders in the US and Germany. The horses she buys are bred for the top of the sport (1.60m) from a physical and athletic standpoint, but are particularly special in that they have phenomenal temperaments that make them highly sought after individuals.

Flying F Sport Horses strives to have 3-4 sales horses on hand with a range of ages and types. We often direct the quieter individuals toward the hunter ring and aim the scopiest ones toward the jumper ring, though the goal is to find horses that will fit in either place. Lindsey has a philosophy about the types of horses she takes, and does not buy any horses that she herself does not like to ride. Lindsey has spent many years in the corporate world flying back and forth across the US while trying to balance her riding life and keep her horsey crew ready for shows. Because of this, she understands that a good brain is the most important quality in a horse for an amateur, and so that is her number one priority (see our “Got Brains?” page for more on that topic).

All horses are thoroughly vet checked and x-rayed prior to purchase. All horses have full sets of x-rays on file and full vet records available to buyers. You can assume they are clean unless noted otherwise up front.

Lindsey understands the difficulties inherent to finding a good horse that checks all of the boxes; pleasant, trainable, tractable, athletic, sound, and fun. The Flying F goal is to provide horses that meet all of those criteria and additionally have a US show record and experience at multiple venues. Most of the horses will have videos of Sadie riding and jumping so that you can rest assured that what you’re seeing in the videos with Lindsey riding will be what you can expect with anyone else.

Happy horse shopping!
